Microgeneration in Wales

This report by the Welsh Consumer Council discusses the potential to develop microgeneration in Wales, addresses issues such as carbon impact, financing, and markets looks at whether microgeneration can be an effective way to combat rising fuel costs and climate change.

The report concludes that microgeneration is currently uneconomical and needs to be assessed within a wider efficiency context. The consumer council highlights a number of changes needed from Government to accelerate the adoption of microgeneration, e.g. increased awareness of microgeneration and energy efficiency, changes building regulations to include requirements on microgeneration and incentivise developers to incorporate microgeneration into new builds.
