CONDITIONS OF ENGAGEMENT
HOME ENERGY RATING - PART L1a- BUILDING REGULATIONS 2006
1. Home Energy Rating assessments are prepared in accordance with the BUILDING REGULATIONS 2006 Part L1a together with the conventions contained in 'SAP 2005' published by DETR/BRECSU for SAP calculations under BREDEM 9.80 and by BREDEM 12 for National Home Energy Ratings (NHER).
2. The Ratings are prepared upon the information submitted by Clients and it is the Client's duty to ascertain from the SAP Input Data sheets that the input information is correct.
3. The rating-calculation is prepared with software and issued by personnel under a licence approved by the Secretary of State which is indicated by the use of the 'SAP logo'. Software and NHER assessors are tested/trained and examined by National Energy Services Ltd There is regular monitoring of assessors by NES Ltd. which operates the NHER scheme as part of the BSI-registered quality assurance.
4. It should be noted that assessments are based upon information supplied to the Assessor and are in no manner an endorsement of the product or system. It is for the Client to make that judgement - e.g. - an improved wall U-value may be obtained by using a wall block with a better conductivity. However, that wall block may not suit the structural requirements of that situation.
5. The following are the main requirements for an assessment to be made
... i Site address/postcode; plans from which floor/wall/roof/opening areas can be calculated (scale 1/50 preferable);
... ii Details of hot water/heating systems including fuel/ boiler info( i.e SEDBUK or make/model/number)
.. iii For NHER ,site information is additionally required most suitably presented on a site plan.
6. TER/DER will be submitted to the Client indicating how the required target may be met subject to Clause 4 above. Further discussion regarding the solutions will be welcomed.
7. COMPLAINTS will be addressed courteously and with haste. If not satisfied with the outcome, Clients may apply to National Energy Services Ltd., Davy Avenue, Knowlhill, Milton Keynes, MK5 8NA. (01908 672 787) from whom a complete Code of Conduct for Registered Assessors may be obtained.
8. FEES as quoted will become payable upon presentation of the Home Energy Rating report and invoice.
9. Client's submission of details for executing energy rating will be taken as acceptance of these Conditions and Fee Scales unless expressly advised otherwise.
FEES for carrying out home energy ratings are:
NEW DWELLINGS Final Design Submission up to four bedrooms = £70.00 - £120.00
Plus As Built Submission = £30.00

5+ - bedrooms / Existing dwellings/non-traditional = upon application
Fee scale based upon client supplying full information/drawings.
Repeat buildings types may be classed within the one rating (if acceptable to building control bodies)
